SERVICE – CUSTOM DECORATION

SUBLIMATION PRINTING – TOPSHEET SKIS / SNOWBOARDS / MONOSKIS

High-definition sublimation printing service on transparent topsheet, intended for the production of personalized skis, snowboards and monoskis.

Compatible with:

  • Polyamide topsheet (PA / Nylon) – ICP 8210
  • ULTRA LIGHT cross-linked polyethylene topsheet/film – 0.4 mm (500 mm wide)

DESCRIPTION

Printing of visuals directly integrated into a transparent topsheet.
The sublimation process allows for a durable, protected decoration without added thickness, perfectly suited to the mechanical constraints of composite structures.

PRINTING MEDIA

Option 1 – ICP 8210 (PA/Nylon)

  • Thickness: 0.2 mm
  • Width: 345 mm
  • Maximum format: 2000 × 345 mm

Option 2 – Ultra Light Crosslinked PE

  • Thickness: 0.4 mm
  • Width: 500 mm
  • Suitable for large areas (kiteboarding, waterskiing, wide snowboarding)

Option: Adding a white background to improve color rendering.

PRINTING PROCESS – SUBLIMATION

The printing is done on transfer paper, then applied to the inside face of the topsheet.

  • Temperature: ~150 °C
  • Process: direct transition of the ink from a solid to a gaseous state
  • Penetration of the ink into the material

The image becomes an integral part of the support (without added thickness).

RESULT

  • Very high definition printing
  • Total protection of the image (integrated under the topsheet)
  • Scratch and abrasion resistance
  • Excellent durability under normal use conditions

PROPERTIES OF THE ICP 8210 MEDIA

  • High transparency
  • Very good abrasion resistance
  • Low internal constraints
  • Surface optimized for printing (specific CF sanding)
  • Compatible with: sublimation, screen printing, digital printing

APPLICATIONS

  • Alpine/freeride skis
  • Snowboards
  • Monoskis
  • kites
  • Prototypes and small series
  • Customization of composite products

IMPLEMENTATION

  • Top layer integration of the sandwich
  • Bonding printed side against composite
  • Lamination with epoxy resin

OBSERVATIONS

  • Printing on the inside face
  • Final quality depends on the file provided (resolution, colorimetry).
  • No varnish required (image protected within the structure)

TECHNICAL ADVICE – ADVANTAGE OF THE PROCESS

Unlike a surface impression:

  • no extra thickness
  • no risk of chipping
  • total mechanical protection
  • made durable over time

Ideal solution for high-end, personalized and durable skis and snowboards.
