The meeting of Alexandre Fougea, an Arts et Métiers engineer with a passion for design and snow sports equipment (which he has been producing for nearly 15 years), and Xavier Fichepoil, a former marketing director in the retail sector, gave birth to a remarkable brand. Akonite offers a curated collection of beautiful objects, including an award-winning sled (the Gentiane, two available, €4,600), a more popular but still very stylish sled (the Avon, €480), and above all, a pair of skis as sleek as they are exclusive: the Digitalis (€3,400). Everything is made in France by passionate artisans selected with the same care as the materials: the sleds by a furniture maker in the Vendée region, the skis in the workshop in Clone, Ardèche. www.akonite.com
